- This church project in Story City, Iowa started with a need to provide a larger narthex space for fellowship following services. It resulted in an addition that replaced an earlier addition facade which the congregation felt didn’t harmonize well with the original building.
Project Description
A larger elevator was added and a new grade level entrance was incorporated into the plan. The upper floor contains the new narthex space and church offices. A new faux stained glass window provides a focal point for the narthex space.
The lower level provides new classroom, utility and storage spaces.
Brick and stone materials were researched and selected to help the addition blend in with the original building.
