In an effort to provide patients with a more private and comfortable hospital registration process MMSC saw the need to remodel their existing lobby and admissions area.

Project Description

Reception Desk

Small corridor registration cubicles were replaced with private interview rooms and a waiting area separate from general hospital lobby waiting.  The existing hospital vestibule was enlarged to provide a concierge station and additional wheelchair storage outside of the lobby waiting area.  New Information and Cashier desks were installed to provide a better interface with patients and visitors.

Waiting Room

All interior finishes were updated to replace a dated interior scheme of vinyl flooring and dark wood doors, beams, and trim.  The new interior was intended to give a more open and inviting feeling to the lobby and eliminate the institutional feeling of the original 1970's décor.  Ceilings were raised and illuminated through indirect lighting to provide a more spacious feeling to the one story lobby.  All new lobby and admissions office furnishings were purchased through a competitive bidding process.
