Located on a major highway in Ames, Iowa, this new 10,000 square foot main bank office was designed with visually ‘open’ ends to allow views of the banking lobby.  Open stairs at each end bring light into the lower level.

Project Description

Exterior 1

Faced with limited site availability, several design studies were performed to respond to the space needs of a bank new to the community.  Site circulation, drive-up banking requirements and internal space arrangements were major factors considered.

Brick, stone and aluminum curtainwall materials were used to provide a strong exterior visual statement.  The interior of the bank uses dark stained wood, high ceilings and skylights to create a feeling of spaciousness and substance.

Exterior 2

The main level contains main banking functions, offices, conference rooms and vault.  The main banking lobby is centrally located to the private offices and teller functions, providing for ease of customer use.

Stairways enclosed by glass curtainwalls, located at the north and south side of the building, provide light and views into the lobby as well as the lower level.  The lower level houses staff break areas and additional open office space for future growth.  The levels are also connected by an elevator and dumbwaiter which is used to transfer banking files between floors.
