The offices of the Region 6 Planning Commission and Peoplerides needed to be expanded and upgraded.  This 2,030 square foot building was built on a vacant portion of the existing Marshalltown, Iowa Public Works Facility.

This building houses the administrative offices of the Commission which serves the counties of Hardin, Marshall, Poweshiek and Tama.  Office space is also included for Peoplerides, an organization which provides wheelchair accessible transportation services for residents in the same counties.

Metal roofing, siding and light brick were used on the exterior of the building to coordinate with the existing Public Works facility nearby.  Clad wood windows and aluminum frame entrance doors were also included in the palette of exterior materials.

Spaces for reception and dispatch, six private offices, driver break room and work/storage area were included in the design.  Base bids were taken on a ground loop heat pump mechanical system as well as supplemental in-floor radiant heat.
